We' re back in the season of summer parties, barbeques and outdoor events. And what would be a better match for the ongoing heat wave but a fruity cold drink? For this reason, the Bonial Green Team came up with something special: a flashy red smoothie bike to provide quick refreshments on the go. We spent the whole day on our freshly greened roof terrace, cycling for and with our colleagues, creating drinks and having a good laugh. Take a peek at what that looked like in our short recap:
Seed bomb workshop
Who had enough exertion on the bike was invited to visit us during our Seed bomb workshop and contribute something to a bee-friendly cityscape. Made of seeds, soil, water and a little love, the scoops can be spread in un-vegetated or mono-cultural spots throughout the city in order to plant wildflowers and insect-friendly herbs. We collectively stocked tray after tray with fresh rolled Seedbombs and started feeling reminiscent of playing in the sandbox back in the day. We can hardly wait to use them in guerrilla gardening!
Making your own seed bombs at home is easy. You will need:
- a cup of seeds (eg marigolds, cornflowers, nasturtiums, chamomile, sunflowers or a bee-friendly mix)
- 4 to 6 cups of soil
- 2 to 3 cups of clay powder
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and form the dough into balls. Drying takes about 2-3 days. Have fun! 💚
Although the day seemed like it would go by way too fast, everyone was excited for our vegan/vegetarian catering. Enjoying juicy cheesecake, sweet flapjacks, tasty salads and spicy snacks, not only were we able to relax at the end of the day, we also got to know many new faces as we exchanged ideas about sustainability and future-oriented work. We for one are already looking forward to the next event on the 5th of July!
